Ready, Set, Read!

Summer Read-A-Thon!

Goal: To promote a love of reading in children and reduce the summer learning loss that can take place during the summer break, while supporting learning disabilities. There will be prizes for the top fundraisers!

Organization: The Learning Disabilities Association of Halton-Hamilton.

Where: Read-a-thon can take place at home, at the park, at the beach, anywhere! The key is that children commit to reading during the summer. All donations are collected online.

How: Children will commit to spending a minimum of 20 minutes per day on reading or reading activities (details of this is provided to parents). This can be broken up or done all at once. Parents or family members can help children keep track of their time on a time log sheet if they find it helpful, but this is not required.

What Will The Proceeds Support: Proceeds of this read-a-thon will directly benefit the Learning Disabilities Association of Halton-Hamilton, a charitable non-profit organization that provides programs and services to support people with Learning Disabilities and their families. This event will help the organization to continue with its ability to offer vital reading intervention programs and remain available for families in need.
