A WORK OF ART - in support of Habitat for Humanity

Family, Friends & Neighbours of Art Russell chose to leave a lasting and generous legacy in his honour towards Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga’s Georgetown 2017 Build.

Art Russell made an indelible mark on the neighbourhood in which he lived and now his neighbours want to return the favour. Art was known on Pennington Crescent, Georgetown, as the grand handyman and head carpenter, regularly offering to help his neighbours with their home improvement projects.

Art passed away on Sept. 11 and as a fitting tribute to his helping nature, friends want to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Art loved local and Canadian history often travelling to visit museums or historic sites across Ontario or beyond. As a history buff, this is another project where he would have loved to swing a hammer to get involved while helping others.

For those who knew Art, or would be interested in contributing to the project's fundraising, you can contribute on this special page set up for this purpose.

HABITAT HALTON-MISSISSAUGA will begin another exciting build in Georgetown Ontario for 5 MORE FAMILIES who need a safe, decent and affordable place to call home. The property, located at the site of the former Exchange Hotel, was acquired by Habitat Halton-Mississauga in 2015 and we cannot wait to see another home complete for a hardworking family in the community. This will be Habitat’s third project in Georgetown and will include 5 new town homes for families within the community. 100% of all donations go directly to the Georgetown Home Project, which will help several families transform their lives for the better.
